Redefining Sensitivity through the Science of Resilience.

Resilient Sensitivity™ integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, attachment theory and nervous system regulation tools to help highly sensitive individuals build resilience without suppressing who they are.

Research on sensory processing sensitivity shows that Highly Sensitive People, or Sensitives, process information more deeply, react more strongly to environmental stimuli, have heightened emotional and relational awareness are highly empathetic and experience faster overstimulation and nervous system fatigue.

Highly Sensitive Is a Nervous System Trait — Not a Flaw

But without proper regulation tools, high sensitivity can lead to chronic overwhelm, fatigue, burnout, emotional flooding, boundary confusion and internal self-criticism.

This is not weakness.
It is a biologically rooted sensitivity profile.

The solution is not desensitization.
The solution is regulation and integration.

You are not too much.

You have a deeply sensitive, perceptive nervous system that hasn’t been properly supported.

Why Regulating Emotions, Energy and the Nervous System Can Feel So Hard for Highly Sensitive People

If you’re a highly sensitive person, you may have noticed that managing your energy and staying regulated can feel like a full-time job. Things that seem minor to others—noise, emotional tension in a room, a packed schedule, or subtle changes in someone’s tone—can deeply affect your nervous system.

This isn’t a personal failure or a lack of resilience. It’s actually connected to how your nervous system is wired.

Highly sensitive people tend to have more responsive nervous systems. Your brain processes sensory and emotional information more deeply, which means you’re constantly taking in and integrating more data from your environment. You’re often aware of subtle cues, emotional undercurrents, and shifts in energy that others may not notice at all.

While this depth of processing can support empathy, creativity, and insight, it also means your nervous system can reach overload more quickly.

When there is a lot of stimulation—social, emotional, or sensory—your body can move into states of overwhelm more easily. You may experience fatigue, anxiety, irritability, shutdown, or a sense that your internal resources are depleted. From the outside it might look like you’re “too sensitive,” but internally it’s often the result of a nervous system that has simply been processing too much for too long without enough recovery time.

Another reason regulation can feel challenging is that many highly sensitive people have spent years trying to adapt to environments that weren’t designed with sensitivity in mind.

You may have learned to push through exhaustion, override your body’s signals, or minimize your needs in order to keep up with others.

Over time, this can leave the nervous system feeling chronically stretched beyond its natural rhythm of activation and rest.

Resilience for a highly sensitive person often looks different than the cultural idea of “toughing it out.” Instead, resilience tends to grow through learning how to work with your nervous system rather than against it—creating space for recovery, honoring limits, and building environments and relationships where your sensitivity is supported rather than suppressed.

When sensitivity is understood and cared for, the nervous system can gradually experience more safety and stability. From that place, many highly sensitive people discover that their depth of perception and emotional awareness becomes not a burden, but a meaningful source of connection, wisdom, and strength.

Myths & Truths

Myth #1

You are too sensitive to the world around you.

Truth #1

You’re not too sensitive. There is no such thing as too sensitive. Your sensitivity was determined when you were born. You have exactly the right amount. Stop measuring yourself against your peers!

Myth #2

You have to change in order to succeed.

Truth #2

You don’t need to become someone different. You simply need to learn to accept who you are and to express yourself in ways that feel comfortable to you. Ever heard of Meryl Streep or Gwyneth Paltrow? How about Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks?

Myth #3

There is something wrong with you.

Truth #3

Sensitivity is not something to be overcome. You are enough. You are not too much. Just because you feel or process more deeply than 70-80% of the population doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you.

Resilient Sensitivity™

Evidence Based and Heart/Body/Mind Centered

Through the integration of psychology, contemplative practice, nervous system science, attachment theory and intuition, I developed an approach I call Resilient Sensitivity™ , a framework designed to help sensitives or highly sensitive and intuitive individuals harness the intelligence of their nervous system rather than fight against it.

This model builds resilience at the level where sensitivity truly resides: in your body’s stress-response system and the inner patterns that developed to protect you.

Feel deeply.
Stay regulated.
Lead from Self.

We have come to believe that being Sensitive eliminates us from certain activities and roles, that it prevents us from participating in or doing well at certain things in life.

And that is simply not the case.

The Core Shift…

Most highly sensitive people are taught to…suppress, push through, toughen up and adapt to environments that aren’t built for them.

Resilient Sensitivity™ teaches you to…understand your nervous system, work with your depth instead of against it, support your inner parts and design your life and work around your wiring and transform sensitivity into personal power.

Sensitivity + Regulation = Confidence and Courage that allows you to lead from Self- your truest self.

Come out of hiding!

The world needs your gifts.

“Welcome! Are you a Sensitive, a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)? You’ve come to the right place.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Martina. I help HSPs with these qualities step into their natural power in work and life.

I am an international coach, licensed psychotherapist, trainer and master intuitive specializing in resiliency based wellness. I have been helping others for over thirty years. I am also an introvert and HSP who believed for years that there was something wrong with me. I struggled with constant fatigue, insecurities, and anxiety, though I appeared confident on the outside.

Through painful trial and error I figured out how to thrive as a professional and entrepreneur. I now have over thirty years experience helping Sensitives go from hiding to thriving. It’s my passion.”

Years ago, I had a job where my boss told me I should never be in sales again…

…because I was “Too Sensitive” I was crushed and humiliated. But I was also angry. I was not going to be eliminated from an entire profession just based on who I was. I was determined to understand sensitivity was about. I zealously went on a mission to discover how to create a life in which I could express my ambitions, a life in which I could thrive. I learned to challenge the messages society gave me. Through lots of trial and error I figured it out.

Over the past 30 years, even though I am a sensitive introvert, I thrive in business. I love my work. I am a leader. I start conversations. I am visible online. I train groups. I dance tango.

And I can show you, too, how to thrive in work, in life, in leadership positions, in group situations, in high visibility environments. I can teach you how to succeed in every situation that makes you feel insecure or not enough.

Sensitivity is not something to overcome.

There’s nothing wrong with you.

Feel Deeply.

You can learn to feel in a safe way and show up differently in your relationships.

Stay Regulated.

You can learn to regulate your emotions, manage your energies and pace yourself.

Lead from Self.

You can learn to lead from your truest deepest Self.

Feel good.

You can experience greater health, let go of anxieties, and thrive in work and life.

~Deepti P., Leadership Development Professional

“I began working with Martina the first year in a new corporate position. My previous leadership positions were at non-profits. I struggled to fit in to my perception of the corporate culture as an introvert and sensitive woman. She was masterful in leading me through the process of claiming my unique gifts. I began to courageously show up as my most authentic self, allowing my sensitivity to guide me as a leader. I feel free to be playful and use humor and encourage others to be themselves. To my surprise, I was promoted!”

Charmelle E.- Senior Vice President

As a high-achiever in the corporate space, overriding my sensitivity and pushing it down became the norm.  I did this for decades until my exhaustion called to me to acknowledge it. This journey of rediscovering your HSP and nurturing it… is for the brave!  Martina is a master and a warrior as she takes you thru this process.  She was there for me at every twist and turn as I navigated thru and sometimes even resisted!  She is graceful, loving, patient and kind.  Exactly what a weary beginner high- achiever needs.

A. Handley. ~ Executive Coach

Martina has a combination of warmth, presence, and astute observation that are ideal in any coach, and particularly valuable as a highly sensitive introvert. Within the first meeting, her facilitation and insight led to both realizations and empowerment. She is able to move and progress quickly even while taking time to really create space for the whole self, without feeling rushed. When I think of a coach to recommend without hesitation or reservation, Martina immediately comes to mind. I have cherished my opportunities to know and work with her and feel confident others looking for growth would also.

Rebecca A. Eldredge, PhD ~ Feel Deeply, Live Completely

Working with Martina has been a life-changer. I lived my entire life believing I was an extrovert. I was plagued with fatigue and health issues. Martina's extensive knowledge and experience helped me realize I'm actually an introverted HSP who was overextended my whole life. Martina possesses an amazing combination of professional acumen, education, and intuition...not to mention a great sense of humor! I have experienced a deeply meaningful, profound shift in my personal and professional life. I am now on a healthy and fulfilling path towards achieving my professional goals and my spiritual life's purpose!

Melinda T. ~ Sales Executive

I have worked with Martina for years, first to process some hidden trauma in my past, and now to help me realize my full potential as an artist and entrepreneur. I went to her thinking something was wrong with me, but she helped me slowly and thoroughly shift that false belief and discover the wealth of feeling and sensitivity innate to my being. All my life, I had been led to believe my sensitivity was a problem. But through working with Martina, I've come to understand what a gift my deeply feeling nature really is, that it gives me true access to myself and the beautiful world around me.

Frieda M. ~Artist & Entrepreneur

I feel so blessed to have found Martina! As an HSP, I found other coaches lacking in understanding the depth and intensity of my processing. Martina affirmed and acknowledged my situation, my unique needs as an HSP, empath, and spiritual woman. She has helped me meet and fall in love with parts of myself that I did not know even existed. She has given me the tools I needed to strengthen my sense of Self as an adult in the world.  I will continue to recommend her to anyone who is ready to do the deep inner work of healing and growth!

Carol S. ~ Spiritual Director

Martina has quite literally been a lifesaver. She has taught me that my traits as an introvert and HSP are not things I need to hide from the world, but rather assets that the world needs. Martina has many gifts. She is intuitive, funny, and truly sees me. I trust her deeply, and because of that I have been able to reach the deepest and truest parts of myself- parts I didn't even know were there. I am now on a beautiful journey to a purposeful, happier, and healthier life.

Renee M. ~ Professor

My conversations with Martina are some of the most fascinating, empowering, enlightening conversations I’ve had regarding my own personal untapped potential. When I say Martina is a master intuitive, I don’t mean that she’s an “empath,” like you hear so many people say. Martina is the real deal. Martina has a wealth of experience, formal training, and skill in INTUITIVE DECISION-MAKING. In short, she’s the kind of powerhouse who can help you get off the fence, and back into the game. Even if you feel like up is down and left is right, and you have no idea which way to go.
